Four one-bedrooms for a Christmas Market weekend in Greenville

Short answer first: we keep four one-bedroom apartments in Greenville, and for two people on a market weekend with a budget around $2,500, any of them sits comfortably inside it. They are Amazing quiet 1BR with all you need, Cozy 1BR in Multi-unit building, 1BR Fully Handicap Accessible Near Downtown, and 1BR with Picnic Area & Fire Pit. Three sleep two. One sleeps three. All four take dogs.
The thing to settle before you settle on a home: the Greenville Christmas Market runs at the Grand Bohemian Lodge on East Camperdown Way, down by the river, and its season is built around late-November and December weekends rather than a continuous run. Check the market's own calendar for the exact days you're holding, because November 20–23 may land just ahead of opening weekend. That's not a reason to move the trip. It's a reason to know what you're walking into before you pick a home three nights long.
What a one-bedroom actually buys you here
A market weekend is a walking weekend. You'll be out in the cold looking at wooden stalls, you'll eat something you didn't plan to eat, and you'll come back wanting heat, a shower and coffee that doesn't require getting dressed again. That's the whole brief, and it's why a one-bedroom apartment beats a bigger house for two people in November: less to heat, less to walk through, and nobody's bedroom doubling as the lounge.
All four of ours are apartments, each with a full kitchen behind the kitchenette, a dining table, a washer and dryer, and a coffee station set up with both a Keurig and a drip machine, which is a small thing until you're the person who wants a pot and your partner wants one cup. Blackout curtains in every one, which matters more than it sounds in a city that gets light early even in winter. Free parking at all four, which in a downtown-adjacent weekend with the market running is worth more than most amenities on the list.
The four, and who each one is for
Amazing quiet 1BR with all you need is the one we'd point a couple at if the goal is to be out most of the day and horizontal the rest of it. The name is the pitch: it's quiet. Bright, modern, a very comfortable bed, and close enough to the Mountain Goat that you can walk there for coffee before driving down to the river. There's a blender, if your mornings involve one. Sleeps two.
Cozy 1BR in Multi-unit building is its near-twin in layout and location, with books and board games in the apartment. We mention that because a November weekend in the Upstate can turn wet without warning, and an afternoon indoors goes differently when there's something to do that isn't a screen. It's the most-reviewed of our one-bedrooms, which tells you people keep coming back to it. Sleeps two.
1BR Fully Handicap Accessible Near Downtown is the one to book if anyone in the party uses a wheelchair, a walker, or just doesn't want stairs. There's a short ramp at the front door, about four inches, and then the whole apartment is flat on one level. The bathroom has a roll-in shower and safety bars throughout. Same bright rooms and same dual coffee setup as the others, same walking (or wheeling) distance to the Mountain Goat. Sleeps two. Confirm your specific needs with us before you book rather than after, and we'll tell you honestly whether it works.
1BR with Picnic Area & Fire Pit is the outlier, and the most interesting of the four for this particular weekend. It's a triplex unit with a picnic area, an outdoor dining spot and a fire pit in the garden, plus free laundry. It sleeps three rather than two, and it keeps children's dinnerware, so a couple with a small child or a third friend on the sofa has somewhere to go. It sits minutes from the Cherrydale shopping area, which means food and errands are easy and you are not in the thick of downtown parking. If the idea of coming home cold from a Christmas market and lighting a fire outside with a glass of something appeals more than another bar, this is the one.
A quick way to choose
- Two of you, want quiet above all: Amazing quiet 1BR with all you need.
- Two of you, rain in the forecast: Cozy 1BR in Multi-unit building, for the books and games.
- Step-free access, roll-in shower: 1BR Fully Handicap Accessible Near Downtown.
- Three of you, or a child, or you want a fire pit: 1BR with Picnic Area & Fire Pit.
- Bringing the dog: any of the four. All are pet-friendly.
What three nights actually costs
Nightly rates in our Greenville one-bedrooms move with the calendar, and a market weekend is not a Tuesday in February. Even so, a three-night stay for two in any of these four should land well under $2,500 once taxes and the cleaning fee are added. The way to know rather than assume is to put November 20–23 into the listing you like and read the total on the checkout screen, where taxes and fees are already in the number. Book direct with us and that total is the total.
Where people get caught out on this trip is not the rental. It's holding three nights for a market weekend and discovering later that the market's schedule for that year starts after you arrive. Confirm the dates on the market's own site first, then book the home.
Getting there, and what's around you
Flying in, GSP is about fifteen to twenty minutes from downtown along I-85, so an evening arrival is genuinely an evening arrival. All four apartments use keypad entry and self check-in, which means a late flight doesn't require anyone to meet you at a door. If something isn't right when you get in, text us. We answer.
Once you're settled, the geography is simple and it's the best thing about Greenville. The Christmas Market sits on Camperdown Way, which puts you a few minutes' walk from Falls Park on the Reedy, where the river drops over the rocks and the Liberty Bridge curves out over the falls. There are two places to eat inside the park itself: Mary's at Falls Cottage, which does salads, sandwiches and Southern cooking, and Passerelle Bistro for French. Both are a reasonable plan for a cold Saturday when the market has emptied your pockets and you want to sit down.

From Falls Park you can step straight onto the Swamp Rabbit Trail, the twenty-two-mile greenway that follows the Reedy River and an old rail corridor from Greenville up to Travelers Rest. It links Falls Park with Cancer Survivors Park and runs down into Cleveland Park, which sits next to the Greenville Zoo and has plenty of free parking. From the Cleveland Park trailhead it's a bit over a mile into downtown, past the Medusa tree in Falls Park, under the Liberty Bridge and on by the Peace Center to Linky Stone Park. In November that walk takes about as long as you want it to and costs nothing, which is a useful counterweight to a weekend built around buying things.
One parking note worth having. The West End Market lot off University Street is free, but it fills on busy days, and a market weekend is a busy day. The free parking at your apartment is the thing that makes a difference: leave the car there, drive down once, and plan on hunting a little when you arrive.
If you need the Mountain Goat
Three of these one-bedrooms (Amazing quiet, Cozy 1BR, and the accessible apartment) sit within walking distance of the Mountain Goat cafe. We keep saying it because guests keep mentioning it in reviews, and because a coffee you can walk to in the cold is a different proposition from one you have to drive to. It's also a decent first stop on a Friday morning before the market opens and the parking gets interesting.
Booking it
Hold the dates once you've confirmed the market's calendar for your year. Put November 20–23 into whichever of the four fits your party, check the total with taxes and fees on the booking page, and book direct. Travelling with a dog, or needing step-free access, or wondering whether a third person will be comfortable in the triplex? Message us before you book. We'd rather tell you a home is wrong for you now than have you find out on a Friday night in November.
